UPDATE: Swine Flu

The World Health Organization (WHO), which coordinates the global response to the spread of human disease, has determined that recent cases of swine flu constitute an international public health concern. BCD Travel is closely monitoring the unfolding of events related to swine flu and is prepared to assist travel managers in evaluating relevant information and key issues upon which organizations need to make travel policy decisions. What should I do with my travel plans?

Travellers should refer to any communications referring to the situation and any possible changes to practice issued by their company. BCD Travel will work alongside its clients to ensure minimal disruption and impact for the traveller and the corporation.

How is BCD Travel helping its clients at this time?

BCD Travel follows and constantly reviews the information and advice issued by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Foreign Office – and will update internal staff members and all clients accordingly with changes to status that could impact upon their travel plans and programmes.

If I decide to review my trip – what happens?

BCD Travel will process and apply client policies and instructions as required.

Each individual Airline will apply their own specific terms and conditions. If travellers need to amend their plans BCD Travel consultants will advise of the current terms and conditions that apply at the time.

What information is provided by the Airlines?

Airlines will follow advice given by recognised bodies, such as the WHO and the Health Protection Agency.   Information is continually supplied to BCD Travel to reflect the current situation.  An airline may also issue its own policy with regards to flight and schedule operability and will publish booking, re-booking and cancellation policies accordingly.
